We are paid by the lender when your loan settles. In most cases, the lender commission is our only payment. Where a broker fee applies (typically for complex, non-prime, or small-balance loans) we disclose the exact fee in writing before you sign anything.
Lender establishment, PPSR registration, administration and insurance fees may also apply. These are charged by the lender, not by us, and are fully disclosed on the loan agreement before you sign.
Our lender panel pays commission at different rates. To manage this conflict, we select lenders based on your eligibility, rate, fees and suitability, not commission rate. We will disclose any material relationship between Stream Finance and a lender that could influence our recommendation.
Under the CCCFA, lenders must be satisfied that any loan is affordable and suitable for you. We help you prepare the information needed (income, essential expenses, other debts) so that a proper affordability check can be completed before a loan is offered.
At the enquiry stage we do a soft check only. A hard credit enquiry is only run once you have selected a lender and instructed us to proceed.
We act in good faith and with reasonable care in sourcing finance options. We cannot guarantee approval, interest rates, fees, or any specific outcome. All final loan terms are set by the lender.
You are responsible for ensuring that all information you provide is accurate, complete and up to date. False or misleading information can lead to loan rejection or, in serious cases, legal consequences.
